ANCESTRAL HOMELAND

Below is a Map of Guangdong Province our Ancestral Province
This Map gives you an idea of location of our ancestral homeland. First, the province is Guangdong. You should try to locate Hong Kong and Macao and Kaiping District. After you have located Kaiping (Hoiping in Cantonese) you will see only one town located in Kaiping, Sanfou. This is the the town that you will arrive if you take the catamaran from Hong Kong. The trip from Hong Kong takes about 5 hours. It is a nice leisurely trip with on a boat that has a seating capacity of about 250. It usually is not crowded and you can walk about. After you reach Sanfou, you will have to find the village. The name of the village is Uhu Cheung. I have a stamp that Dad made for me. If you showed a taxi driver the impression from the stamp, you should have no problem locating the village.
This is a picture of our China Family. The older lady sitting is the widow of Dad's younger brother and her family. It consist of her son, his wife and two girls. This photo was taken in 1988 on my first visit to the village with Marc. The house that we are in was built with funds sent home by Dad. It was strange to see all the photos of our family sent by Dad displayed on the wall. Seated is the widow of Cheng Kow.Her son Tam Fook Man and his two daughters Tam Wen Juan and Tam Li Juan. To locate village, refer to Tam Fook Man,Chiu Lung Lane, Du Ching District, Kai Ping City, Guangzhou Province.
